Welcome to this blog! I’m very happy that you found your way here.
My name is Darek. I was born in December 1991 and I love traveling. I have Polish roots, but I was born and raised in Germany. Because of my background, during my childhood and teenage years we always went to Poland during the holidays – and nowhere else. Of course that was nice, but I also wanted to see something different. While my friends traveled to Spain, England, Italy, or even farther away, that unfortunately wasn’t possible for me at the time.
But for me, wishes shouldn’t simply remain wishes or dreams. So from an early age I made a promise to myself: When I grow up and stand on my own two feet, I want to travel the world. I want to see everything that interests me – simply go wherever I feel like going.
And that is exactly what I have been doing ever since, making the most of my opportunities.
My first major long-distance trip outside of Europe was in 2015 – together with my younger brother. On a guided tour we explored the East and West Coasts of the USA. For me it was especially exciting to find out: “Is it really like in the movies?” And indeed – much of it was exactly like that. This trip marked the beginning of many more experiences. From then on, the same question kept coming up: “Where will the next trip be?”
Besides traveling, I do fitness training and play basketball in a club. I enjoy meeting friends, doing things together, and trying out new things. To relax, I watch series, documentaries, or movies and I also like going to the cinema. To clear my head, I enjoy taking a ride on my boat and watching the sunset. If I want to feel a bit more wind, I go out with my Ryker, enjoying the freedom and the adrenaline.
On this blog, I want to tell you about my travels and experiences, share insights, give tips, and maybe even inspire you to discover and do more yourself. The world is there to be discovered – that’s my philosophy.
Just going to work, coming home afterward, paying off a house and doing a bit of gardening – that alone can’t be everything for me. I want to break out of this system, out of this “hamster wheel.” If a system doesn’t really seem beneficial to me, why should I follow it?
I want to experience things and also create something. Leave something behind. Traces, memories, and impressions.
